1. What was your first introduction to Vistabule?

  • I was introduced by my friend, Jason, who has been a longtime Vistabule employee.

2. What are your main responsibilities in the shop?

  • As part of the production team, my main responsibility is building hatches and doors for Vistabule and DayTripper trailers. I also prepare other components for the assembly team to incorporate into the final build.

3. You recently took out the DayTripper for the first time. How was that experience?

  • I loved the DayTripper. It was easy to tow, maneuver on and off the hitch, and crawl into at night. Lots of lights and a great view of a pileated woodpecker flying right over my morning ‘Vista View’. For privacy and wind/bug protection, the CLAM screened porch absolutely took it up a notch.

4. What is one of your favorite camping memories?

  • Top-water smallies on my first trip to the Boundary Waters with my good buddy, Fritz, and my dog, Cosmo. Non-stop action for a week. Great weather at a great site. Truly spectacular.

5. What do you consider to be an essential luxury item to bring along on a campout?

  • I have a low profile cot to keep me off the ground. Next step up would be to get my own Vistabule.

6. What are some of your bucket list camping locations?

  • I’ve already checked off a couple spots. I loved the BWCAW so much the first time I keep going back. One of the prettiest places on the planet right in our back yard. I’ve also spent a couple weeks kayaking Prince William Sound, gone through the Badlands, the Tetons, and the Pacific Northwest. I love waterfalls. A Vistabule trip to northern MN is tops on my list.

7. Do you have any camping horror stories (e.g., when everything seemed to go wrong)?

  • Mother Nature quickly turned on our group while paddling out of the BW. Our canoes were taking on a lot of water as the waves were getting bigger. I’ve never been so happy to get on shore. We hunkered down for several hours before making our way to the trucks just before dark.

8. If you could create your own music festival, what 3 artists would headline? What would the festival be called, and where would it be located?

  • If I get to create the festival then my band, The Cellar Dwellers, would kick it off.  Chris Stapleton, Willie Nelson and Tina and the B-Sides would all join us in wrapping up the “Next Fest” World Tour right here in St. Paul.
